2026 Proposed Fee and Rate Resolutions
The City of Calhoun will have a first reading on the proposed 2026 General Government Fee Resolution and the proposed 2026 Calhoun Utilities rate resolution on June 8, 2026. A public hearing for these items will be held on June 22nd.
Zoning Notice
The Mayor and Council of the City of Calhoun, Georgia will hold a public hearing on July 6, 2026 at 7:00 P.M. at the Calhoun Depot, 109 South King Street, in response to:
- A building front setback variance request totaling forty-one (41) feet, to vary from the required thirty-five (35) foot setback on Fain Street to sixteen (16) feet, and to vary from the required thirty-five (35) foot setback on Jim Lay Drive (Formally Pitts Street) to thirteen (13) feet, for 4.29 acres, at a location of 411 College Street, being parcel C24-078, by First Baptist Church of Calhoun GA.
- Annexation and zoning request of C-2 for 1.19 acres, located at 1117 S Wall Street, being parcel 042-106, by Ronnie Holbrook.
A Zoning Advisory Board Meeting will be held on Thursday July 2, 2026 at 4:30 P.M. at the Calhoun Depot. The recommendation of the board will be forwarded to the Mayor and Council and will be made a part of the public hearing as referenced above.
Copies of the City’s Zoning Policies and Procedures and the Zoning Standards adopted by the Council and amended several times since, are available upon request at Community Development during normal business hours, or at all Zoning Hearings or Council Meetings.
INDIVIDUALS WHO WISH TO OPPOSE THE ZONING MATTER AT ALL PUBLIC HEARINGS AS LISTED, MUST FILE A WRITTEN DISCLOSURE STATEMENT AT LEAST FIVE CALENDAR DAYS PRIOR TO THE FIRST HEARING IF THEY HAVE CONTRIBUTED A TOTAL AMOUNT OF $250.00 OR MORE WITHIN THE LAST TWO YEARS TO THE CAMPAIGN FOR AN ELECTED CITY OFFICIAL. THIS DISCLOSURE MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING DETAILS: (1) THE NAME AND OFFICIAL POSITION OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL WHO RECEIVED THE CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTION, (2) THE AMOUNT AND DESCRIPTION OF EACH CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTION, AND (3) THE DATE OF EACH CONTRIBUTION DURING THE TWO YEARS BEFORE THE DATE OF THE REZONING REQUEST.

Free Public Wi-Fi Access
The City of Calhoun is proud to announce free public Wi-Fi access is now available at the Downtown Calhoun City Park, Calhoun Recreation Department’s tennis facility, swimming pool, football field, the new baseball/softball complex, the yellow playground, and the Mauldin Road soccer complex.
The free public Wi-Fi will be available between the hours of 6:00 AM and 11:00 PM.
The Wi-Fi network name is CalhounWiFi and the password is Hometown.
Some devices may initially prompt a log in page, but no personal information or account setup will be required for login. Instructional signs will be posted this week in the areas with public Wi-Fi access. You may submit user feedback to wificomments@calnet-ga.net.
We would like to thank Brad Carrick and the staff at Calnet for making this opportunity possible. The equipment was purchased utilizing the Federal Government’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to help implement the goal of additional broadband deployment for the public. Additional locations are under review and consideration, so stay tuned!

The Calhoun-Gordon County Airport Authority is changing their normal meeting date to the 3rd Tuesday of the month, at 11:30 AM. This meeting is held in the conference room at the Tom B. David Airport.
