Join us for the Inaugural Eddie Reeves Memorial Pickleball Tournament – Paddles for Promise on July 25–26, 2026, at Pickleball 706 in Calhoun, Georgia!

This special event celebrates the life and legacy of Charles Edward “Eddie” Reeves—a devoted husband, father, mentor, coach, community leader, and friend whose impact on Calhoun continues to inspire so many.

Whether you’re competing for medals or simply supporting a great cause, you’ll be part of something much bigger than a tournament.

Tournament Details:

Saturday, July 25: Men’s & Women’s Doubles

Sunday, July 26: Mixed Doubles

Skill Levels: 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 & 4.5+ (including 50+ divisions)

Pickleball 706 – Calhoun, GA

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Eddie Reeves Memorial Scholarship Fund at Calhoun High School, helping future generations pursue their dreams.

Looking for a fun summer adventure? Join us for an exciting tubing trip on a beautiful six-mile stretch of river in the Aska Adventure Area near Blue Ridge, GA! This is a great experience for all ages, and the float lasts approximately 2 hours.

🚌 Depart promptly at 10:15 AM

Raven Cliff Falls Day Trip!

Looking for a great way to spend your Saturday outdoors? Join us on June 20th for a beautiful hike to Raven Cliff Falls!

Date: June 20

Meet at the Recreation Department Offices at 8:00 AM

Departure: 8:15 AM sharp

This scenic trail follows Dodd Creek through the forest, crossing roots and rocks while offering excellent views and plenty of opportunities to cool off along the way. Enjoy the stunning Raven Cliff Falls area and watch Matthews Creek cascade down the cliffs.

Trail Length: 5 miles round trip (out and back)

Difficulty: Fairly flat and beginner-friendly

Important:

• All children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

• Transportation is provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Participants are also welcome to follow us to the trail in their own vehicle.

DISTRICT 5 CHAMPIONS!

Congratulations to our 8U Black Yellow Jackets on an incredible District 5 Championship run!

Over the course of 4 nights, these young athletes battled through 7 games, showing heart, determination, and teamwork every step of the way. Their bats stayed hot all week as they put up an astounding 95 runs, proving just how hard they’ve worked all season long.

This championship wasn’t just about the scoreboard—it was about perseverance, supporting one another, and never backing down from a challenge. These players represented our community with pride, sportsmanship, and grit.

A huge thank you goes out to our coaches for their dedication, our parents and families for their endless support, and everyone who came out to cheer on these boys throughout the tournament.

The journey isn’t over yet! The District 5 Champions are headed to the State Championship in Statesboro next week, ready to compete against the best teams in Georgia. We couldn’t be prouder of this group and all they’ve accomplished.

No matter what happens from here, these boys have already made us proud. They have represented our community with heart, determination, sportsmanship, and a never-quit attitude. But we’re not finished yet.

Let’s rally behind these boys and show them the support they’ve earned!💛⚾🐝

Important: Preregistration is REQUIRED for field trips.

Some of our trips require a final head count 2 weeks in advance, so early registration is essential.A $10 deposit secures your child’s spot for the week, with the remaining $75 due that Monday. (This can only be done in office)
