Purchasing Director

The City of Calhoun is now accepting applications for a Purchasing Director.

Duties include managing purchasing for all departments by purchasing supplies, materials, services and equipment of the desired grade and quality; maintaining capital bid calendars, bidder files, cooperative buying, cumulative project cost, requisition and purchase order documentation; preparing specifications, plans, RFP’s and bid documents and performance criteria;  Administrator of the procurement card program and the cellular phone program. Assign vendor numbers and create new vendors in the computer system and maintain the vendor listing.  Oversee responsibility of purchasing clerk.  Direct the Risk Management Program.

Qualifications are: Two-year associate’s degree requirement in related field, Bachelor’s Degree preferred in purchasing, business, finance, supply chain management or related field; Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in related field;  Computer, typing and calculator skills.
Certified Public Purchasing Officer or ability to obtain certification preferred.  
Supervisory ability.
Ability to work with internal/external customers.
