Public Hearings for Ordinance Amendments

The Mayor and Council of the City of Calhoun will hold public hearings at the Depot Community Room, 109 South King Street, Calhoun, GA on April 12th at 7:00pm for the following ordinances: 1) an ordinance to amend, strike or change certain articles, divisions and sections of Part II –   Calhoun Code of Ordinances, Chapter 90 – Article V, Special Events Requiring Road Closings, to incorporate new procedures for all Special Event applications requiring road closures that fall within the geographic boundaries of the Calhoun Downtown Development District, requiring review from the Downtown Development Authority. 2) An ordinance to amend, strike or change certain articles, divisions and sections of Part II – Calhoun Code of Ordinance, Chapter 34 – Article II – Revolving Loan Program, to change the interest rate for applicants that cannot meet the 50 percent financing requirements from the private sector for the remaining 75% to an interest rate to be determined by the loan advisory commission based on prevailing market rates and approved by the mayor and city council. The public hearings will be held at the Depot Community Room, 109 South King Street, Calhoun, GA on April 12th at 7:00pm.  The public is invited to attend.  Copies of the proposed ordinances can be found below.
