Network Technician

The City of Calhoun is now accepting applications for a Network Technician.

This position will assist the IT department with the installation, implementation, troubleshooting and documentation of hardware, software, and phone system components. The candidate must be patient, a self-starter, detail oriented and work well with others as well as independently with little supervision. Must have the desire for learning and training in cybersecurity.

Qualifications are a minimum of an Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related field with a minimum of 3 years of Information Technology experience. Alternatively, a candidate with a certification in Network+, A+, Security+ or ITIL Foundation with 5 years IT experience will also be considered. Must have working experience with Windows operating systems, tablets, wireless networks, routers, switches, firewalls, LAN/WAN/WLAN, DNS, TCPIP, routing, and Security Fundamentals. Experience with administering Windows Server AD, Exchange and/or SQL a plus. Must be able to pass a drug test and a background check.
