The City of Calhoun is now accepting applications for a Meter Reader.

Responsibilities include changing out and maintaining water and electric meters; Assisting with the general maintenance on meter reading trucks; replacing meter lids on water meters; learning computer software to assist with drive-by readings; disconnecting and reconnecting water and electric service; after-hours duty is required for reconnects at least one week per month.

Qualifications are a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Georgia driver’s license; the ability to climb steep banks; cross ditches, and the ability to drive defensively since the job requires 70% driving time; and the ability to work well with internal/external customers.
